While I've been deployed here to Afghanistan, my magic has not evolved as I had originally hoped. I planned on practicing a lot of new sleights and card tricks, but I have grown lazy while dealing with personal and work related issues. It wasn't until I went home for 15 days of R&R that I really started to get back into my right frame of mind. I attribute it to becoming a member of the Academy of Magical Arts at the Magic Castle.
But since October, I've been known around base as the "Magic guy". Just one more place where I've earned that title. The soldiers and sailors that I've worked with here will probably tell stories about me when ever they see some one do a card trick or watch a magician on TV. It's a good feeling, I like touching people in ways that they didn't expect.
That and my room mates will be digging cards out of their deployment gear for the next year. I've planted them all over, so they won't find them until they are ready to come back over here. hahaha.
